Pregnancy & birth

Natural processes, where body and mind work together.

Love, trust, relaxation, security, contribute to optimizing the conditions in which a baby is welcomed into the world.

The whole system, such as partner and family, around your child participates.

Medical support that is sometimes needed contributes to optimal birth care.

MAMADOULA
A professional doula, what's in it for you?

During pregnancy and especially childbirth, continuous emotional and psychological support is extremely important. Hiring a doula is an investment in yourself. An investment that you are more than worth. Various studies show that the continuous presence of a doula creates the doula effect

  • Shorter delivery (dilation phase takes on average 2 hours less)

  • Fewer complications

  • Fewer artificial deliveries (forceps, vacuum)

  • Fewer cesareans

  • Fewer contractions needed

  • Fewer requests for pain relief (including epidural)

  • Better baby onset, better APGAR scores

  • Less postpartum depression

  • Partner is more actively involved in birth

  • Higher satisfaction with childbirth

  • Faster recovery of the woman

  • Breastfeeding goes better

There are other great studies and good developments.

Everything in this text is information for everyone involved: expectant parents, pregnant or non-pregnant, birthing partner, siblings, expectant (great) grandparents, girlfriends, friends and, of course, interested professionals. I intentionally address only the pregnant to keep the text readable, but fill in your own role and see what may apply to you as well.

MAMADOULA Miriam

As a holistic doula & psychosocial therapist, I support women, and everyone involved, around pregnancy and childbirth.

I am not replacing anyone at all, not your partner, not your midwife, gynecologist or maternity nurse. I am just there to strengthen your team.

During your pregnancy, we prepare together for the birth and arrival of your baby and the period that follows, post partum.

Do you like having support during pregnancy and the birth of your baby?

Then a doula is an excellent investment.

Because as a psychosocial therapist I have years of experience in supporting people with various psychological and physical complaints, you are also at the right place if you feel you need more.

If you wish to have children (fertility program), if you suffer from childbirth trauma or fear of giving birth, if you suffer from psychological and/or physical complaints, etc.

Together we make a customized program so you get optimal support from me and you are well prepared for the birth and the period afterwards.
